Since being admitted to the Bar, Marie-Andrée Gagnon has devoted a significant part of her practice to representing health and social service institutions for professional liability. On behalf of insurers and liability insurance funds, she has also represented other professionals, such as notaries, real estate brokers, attorneys, and others.
Marie-Andrée has a solid experience in Law of Insurance of persons as well as in general insurance matters and, in this regard, has developed a practice focused upon the analysis of insurance coverage.
In addition, she has acted on behalf of different agencies before coroner commissions and acted as legal counsel in matters involving the media, in both ethical and legal matters. Finally, she covers class actions and access to information matters.
For a number of years, Marie-Andrée taught at the École du Barreau du Québec, and more particularly drafting legal procedures, civil procedure and civil liability. Since 2011, she also teaches at the Université de Montréal, as lecturer in charge of the Pierre-Basile Mignault interfaculty moot competition.
