Being an intern and law student at Morency

Morency is a leading strategic and legal consulting firm for SMEs, institutions, and public/parapublic organizations. The firm offers an enriching and stimulating work environment that will allow you to develop your professional skills and abilities in various areas of law while working in a friendly and respectful environment.

A path designed for your progress
Our program for students and interns aims to provide a structured, stimulating, and deeply human learning environment where everyone can develop their skills while discovering the reality of the profession.

At Morency, we encourage our students and interns to explore various fields in order to familiarize themselves with practice beyond the university setting. You will have the opportunity to be at the heart of the action in various cases and assist your colleagues in carrying out their mandates: you will be an integral part of the team.

Upon your arrival, you will receive a personalized welcome that will facilitate your integration into the firm. As a student or intern, you will quickly be exposed to the real practice of law through:

  • individualized supervision;
  • the opportunity to explore different areas of expertise;
  • active participation in a variety of mandates: research, drafting legal opinions and memos, preparing files, participating in meetings, interrogations, and hearings, etc.;
  • appearances before various courts.

Here, internships are not structured in the form of formal rotations. Rather than limiting interns to a single sector at a time, we favor a flexible approach where different clients entrust them with a variety of assignments. This approach allows each intern to be exposed to all of our practice areas, develop a cross-functional understanding of the firm, and acquire versatile legal skills, while taking into account each individual's interests and learning pace.

Your experience with us will cover several areas of legal practice, offering a varied experience while being supervised by professionals who are interested in your development. Our approach values collaboration, openness, and mutual support, allowing everyone to progress at their own pace while benefiting from constant support.

Real-world experience, real opportunities
At Morency, you will contribute to cases that have a direct impact on our clients. You will have the opportunity to learn about several areas, including:

  • Labor law: Participation in cases related to labor relations, health and safety, internal investigations, and collective bargaining.
  • Business law: Involvement in strategic growth projects: transactions (mergers and acquisitions), restructuring, taxation, financing, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and personal information protection.
  • Civil, commercial, construction, and family litigation: Analysis of disputes, preparation of proceedings, participation in settlement strategies including mediation and arbitration.
  • Administrative and public law: Management of litigation, governance, and regulatory issues, particularly in the municipal, education, health, and social services sectors.

Conditions that promote fulfillment and humanism
We offer a modern, welcoming, and wellness-focused work environment. Our students and interns enjoy:

  • offices located in the heart of Quebec City and Montreal;
  • access to a gym on site;
